Liposuction
General Information: liposuction or liposculpture is a procedure to remove localized deposits of fat from the body to improve body contour and shape. Using small hollow metal tubes called cannulas fat is removed from areas of excess via small incisions placed in inconspicuous locations that literally heal without leaving a scar. With liposuction, fat that is resistant to diet and exercise can be easily removed permanently changing body contour. At your consultation those areas that would benefit from liposculpture will be pointed out and the risks described.
Length of Surgery: 1 to 3 Hours
Location: Accredited Surgery Center or Hospital
Anesthesia: General or local with sedation
Recovery Time: The patient can usually return to work a few days following
surgery depending on the individual. Exercise and strenuous activity may be done at 3 to 6
weeks following surgery.
Post Operative Results: Each patient heals differently; however following the surgery patients
may experience temporary pain, swelling, possible bruising, soreness and fatigue. The incisions are minimal and will fade and flatten with time.
It has been our experience that patients are very happy with their post
op results and their new look.
Helpful Hints: Be in good mental and physical health. Do Not Smoke. Help improve healing
by taking pre and postoperative vitamins. Improve the appearance of small scars with topical gel.
