Gynecomastia
General Information: Gynecomastia is the enlargement of the breast in males. This can be due to actual breast tissue or fat. Whatever the cause this tissue is the source of embarrassment and occasional pain. It can be removed via liposuction alone or in combination with excision. Incisions are inconspicuous and patients can quickly return to work.
Length of Surgery: 1 to 3 Hours
Location: Accredited Surgery Center or Hospital
Anesthesia: General or local with sedation
Recovery Time: The patient can usually return to work in 5 days to a week depending
on the individual. Exercise and strenuous activity may be done at 4 to 6 weeks following surgery.
Post Operative Results: Each patient heals differently; however following the surgery patients
may experience temporary pain, swelling, possible bruising, soreness and fatigue. The small incisions will
fade and flatten with time. It has been our experience that patients are very happy with their post
op results and their new look.
Helpful Hints: Be in good mental and physical health. Do Not Smoke. Help improve healing by taking pre
and postoperative vitamins. Improve the appearance of small scars with topical gel.
