Chin and/or Cheek Augmentation
General Information: chin and/or cheek augmentation procedures are most frequently accomplished by placement of a small implant over the area of the chin and cheek that would benefit from enhancement. These implants are often placed during other facial procedures to enhance the overall result. The incisions used are frequently placed in the mouth to leave no visible scars. These implants help create the stronger chin line or higher cheek bones seen in ideally proportioned faces. The surgical risks of these operations are few but the benefit in appearance and self esteem great.
Length of Surgery: 1 Hour
Location: Accredited Surgery Center or Hospital
Anesthesia: General or local with sedation
Recovery Time: The patient can usually return to work in 2 to 3 weeks depending
on the individual. Exercise and strenuous activity may be done at 4 to 6 weeks following surgery.
Post Operative Results: Each patient heals differently; however following the surgery patients
may experience temporary pain, swelling, possible bruising, soreness and fatigue. The incisions will
fade and flatten with time. It has been our experience that patients are very happy with their post
op results and their new look.
Helpful Hints: Be in good mental and physical health. Do Not Smoke. Help improve healing by taking pre
and postoperative vitamins. Improve the appearance of small scars with topical gel.
